BMW Golf Cup International concludes its 22nd tournament in Egypt

BMW and Golf sport fanatics have engaged in an interesting experience through their participation in the Egyptian qualifying tournament of the BMW Golf Cup International, marking 22nd anniversary in Egypt.

The 2018 local BMW Golf Cup tournament was held in The Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa, Katameya Dunes in New Cairo, witnessing the participation of a number of local and international sponsors.

The winners have qualified to represent Egypt at the BMW World Cup March 2019, in Mexico.

The Egyptian tournament of BMW Golf Cup International is a special event for the German brand in Egypt, especially since Egypt is one of the first countries to participate in the championship since its establishment.

The Westin Katameya Dunes Resort in New Cairo hosted the tournament this year, including the participation of a number of local and international sponsors. Marking top sponsor, Iwan for Investment and Development, exerts great effort to build sustainable and integrated communities, while supporting locally affluent events.

Moreover, the event witnessed remarkable attendance by the families and friends of the golfers, who were keen to participate in many of the activities conducted by BMW partners.

BMW guests and golfers have enjoyed the finest coffee from Nespresso, and the exhibition of the latest watches, made by renowned watch maker Omega, known for its rich history and heritage.

During the event, winners have been awarded valuable prizes from Omega, Nespresso , the classy St.Dupont and Baltaga.

Latest BMW models catch golf fanatics’ eyes

Within the tournament, BMW Egypt displayed latest models at The Westin Katameya Dunes Resort, as attendees had the opportunity to test-drive them. From these models, the BMW 2 Series convertible, and the all-new BMW X3 in the xDrive30i and M40i editions were showcased in the tournament, garnering the appreciation of audiences around.

The M40i edition is being, for the first time in The Middle East, locally assembled within the Bavarian Auto Group factories in Egypt.

Moreover, the seventh and all-new generation of BMW 5 series that is also being locally assembled for the first time in Egypt, made an appearance in the event.

Over 100,000 golf players around the globe seek final tournaments

Only in Germany, the BMW World Golf Cup qualifying tournaments witness the participation of 10,000 Golf players who seek to reach the final tournament; moreover the number of golf players who have effectively participated in the BMW World Golf Cup from 50 countries, reached 100,000 participants, who have competed strongly to reach the final tournaments, being held in some of the most luxurious and important golf courses in a myriad of countries.

On an annual basis, the BMW World Golf Cup tournaments are usually held in breathtaking destinations, such as: Portugal, Argentine, Australia, Thailand, Singapore and South Africa. Meanwhile the local qualifying tournaments that are being held in each country on its own also enjoy the same amount of sophistication, present on the international finals.

This great attention and care from BMW AG to Golfing has made the German manufacturer one of the most esteemed sponsors to the sport over the course of years, leaving a genuine mark with audiences all around.
